Peaceful Birthing - my birth inspiration

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.     Ephesians 2:8 NLT
This makes me think of who do we give credit to after our baby is born? Do we praise the doctor saying, "If it weren't for my doctor...." or cry out with pride, "I did it!" or give thanks to our partner, "I couldn't have done it without my husband!" But forget to praise, give thanks, and honor the one who truly saved us, the giver of life, the one who strengthens us??? Our child, our birth, our life, even our trials are all gifts from God. Praise HIM!!!

     Your birth is a partnership between you and the Lord.

I am strong.

I am beautiful.

I release control of my body to my birth.
I am Open to the energy of birth.
In every moment, My baby and I are working together.

To each contraction, I say Yes.

Thank you for bringing my baby to me.

Each contraction is a gentle rising wave,

I let go of my body so they can carry my body and allow it to do its job.

I am connected to the God who

formed my baby and my heart:

He is Mighty to Save.

My baby feels my calm, peace and love.

I am open to God’s Wisdom as I prepare for the birth of our baby.

I stretch and move with grace and fluidity.

My body is stronger and more flexible than I’ve ever thought possible.

My baby and I are connected through the beautiful breath of life of our God and Creator.

My deep, slow breathing provides just what my body

 and baby need to work properly and smoothly.

I relax. I let go. 

I am opening like a beautiful Lotus flower.

My body is a miracle. My baby is a gift. I am divinely grateful.

I let go of tension. I let go of fear. I leave them at Jesus’ feet. He empowers me to be relaxed and refreshed.

The magic and mystery of birth amaze, delight and inspire me.

My body is beautiful and strong.

My baby is growing and moving perfectly.

God loves and supports me and my baby.

I am allowing the Divine plan of my life to unfold.

Pregnancy is natural and normal, safe and divine.

My body was designed to give birth and I will open up and let it. God will bring my baby to us safely and gently.

I am calm and relaxed.

With every gentle movement and deep breath I am sending love and energy to my baby.

I am beautiful and strong.

My strength comes in letting go of my tension and allowing peace to flow through me.

I am inhaling peace, love and Grace.

I exhale my insecurities, flaws, and worries – they are nothing to me. They don’t define me.

I am aware of my muscles.

I will release them all so my body can work peacefully.

Giving birth is normal.

Giving birth is safe.

Giving birth is a miracle.

Giving birth is an amazing, peaceful experience.

I trust in the Wisdom of God and the course He has designed for my baby, family and body.

I give thanks to the Lord for giving me Hope.

I am safe. I am secure. I am warm.

I am inhaling pure and radiant light.

My cervix is opening, like a flower.
My pelvis is flexible and open.
My muscles are warm, heavy, and totally relaxed.

Be Bold. Be Gentle.

Birth in Sweetness & Joy.

Women are the carriers of life.

We hold the fruit of our loving beneath

our hearts.

The pathway to Joy is to relinquish control.

Don’t try and control your body,

Instead let go and the Lord will bring you Joy

In what your body can do!

As a mother, my job is to take care of what is possible,

And trust God with the impossible.

{ {Psalm 22:9-10}

Yet you brought me out of the womb;

you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast.

From birth I was cast upon you;

from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

Comfort Measures

My body opens like a flower in bloom

I breathe slowly and evenly. Inhaling peace, exhaling tension

Each wave of labor brings me closer to holding my baby in my arms

Squat, roll, kneel, dance, shower, hang, breathe,

 sit, sing, sleep or sway the baby out

Embrace the sensations and thank them for bringing your baby into your arms

I am free to breathe deeply, pray openly, sing and freely express myself 

through each wave of labor

Relaxed, peaceful and open

For Husbands in Birth

I trust in her God gifted ability to give birth easily I listen, I trust, I support, I love

I am an important part of this birth, I am important to my family

My woman is strong and capable of birthing our child

I create a safe place for my baby to be born into

I offer support to my wife and my family

I remind her to relax and trust the process of birth

I quiet myself and listen to her

I listen to God to protect and nurture my family

I look to Jesus to show unfailing Grace on my wife no matter how well she does

I see birth as beautiful, I see the stretching and opening of my wife as beautiful

Birthing is the woman’s way of bringing LIFE into the world – 

I recognize that she is doing His work

I see everything that my wife does in birth as amazing,

 beautiful and I recognize her strength

I fall deeper into love with my wife when I see her connecting with God 

and giving me a gift of His

Children are a reward from God, the most ultimate gift or purpose in my life
